In the summer of 2024, after a long night drive the couple finally arrived at their hotel in Portland, ME. Joseph had made a deal with Salyna that if they were to wake up early to see the sunrise, they would do whatever Salyna wanted for the day. Of course Salyna had to take that deal. The next morning they got ready, packed all of their belongings, and drove to Cape Elizabeth to watch the sunrise at a lighthouse. It was a cool morning and Joseph had hoped Salyna would not try to seek warmth within the pockets of his sweatshirt, where the RING happened to be. Salyna was capturing photos of the ocean view and sunrise when, Joseph strayed away behind her to prepare himself and hope she would not notice. After Salyna's 50th picture of the same view, frustrated that they were all crooked, she was hoping to try a different view. Joseph appeared in front of her on one knee with the ring he had kept so dearly in the pocket of his sweatshirt, and asked Salyna to marry him.
