Rachel has been going up to Curtis since she was in 4th grade. She started going up with her best friend Rochelle since she was an only child and wanted some company. Rochelle and Rachel made lots of memories going up almost every year until she was 20 years old. Rochelle's Mom Sandy had been going to Curtis since she was a 5 year old in the 1960s and wanted to pass on this tradition with her daughter. Sandy had rented a cottage in town every July 4th week. After many years of looking, Sandy finally bought the perfect cottage in town in 2004. We then got to visit Curtis at any time together! Rochelle tragically passed away in 2007 when she was 21 years old. Sandy and Rachel became even closer over the years where Rachel would visit Sandy anytime from April to October yearly. Sandy then passed away in 2013 leaving her beautiful cottage to Rachel. Rachel has since had many visitors over the years making new memories with family and more friends. Rachel's parents feel in love with the area and frequent the place. Everyone seems to love Curtis when they visit. Rachel's aunt Judy liked the area so much that she and her uncle Earl purchased a cottage on the same lake! When Joe visited Curtis for the first time he also fell in love! Loving the up north and Yooper feel. He loved it so much that he wanted to get married in this meaningful place! We are so excited to share this peace of paradise with you all! And share stories of Rochelle, Sandy and so many others who loved this place and have went to heaven.
