Covid Restrictions?

Answer

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the size of the wedding, and the increasing concerns about the Delta Variant, we are requiring all of our guests, regardless of vaccination status, to show proof of a negative covid test taken within 48-72 hours before the wedding. We feel that this is the best way to protect our loved ones and still celebrate safely. We will accept any PCR or antigen covid tests. If you are unable to get tested at an actual testing site, CVS, Walgreens, Rite-Aid, as well as many other drug stores sell at-home covid tests for roughly $25 for 2 tests. Results will show in about 15 min. Please bring a photo of the negative covid test with you the day of the wedding. Masks will also be required unless actively eating or drinking.

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is formal attire optional. We encourage suits for men and dresses (floor-length/cocktail/etc) or pantsuits for women. Although the venue is close to the beach, please refrain from wearing shorts or flip-flops.

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

San Diego averages a daily maximum temperature for September that's between 73 and 79 degrees Fahrenheit. The minimum temperature usually falls between 63 and 67 °F.

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Both the ceremony and reception will be taking place at the Cuvier Club, 7776 Eads Ave, La Jolla, CA.

Can I bring our kids?

Answer

Although we love your little ones, this is an Adult-only affair. Only kids in the wedding party will be allowed.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors in a shaded garden patio area. The reception will be indoors. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony and cocktail hour will take place indoors.

What should I do if I can’t make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly. If you know you cannot make it before the RSVP opens, please let us know via phone call, email, text, etc.

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

Cuvier Club is located at 7776 Eads Ave, La Jolla, CA 92037. It is on the corner of Eads Ave and Silverado St. Please park on the street parking spots or at nearby parking garages.

Is there parking? Where should guests park?

Answer

For those of you that are driving to the venue, there is no parking at the Cuvier Club. There is street parking and public parking garages available nearby. There are parking garages off of Prospect St and Fay Ave. Garage - 875 Prospect St., La Jolla, CA 92037. There is street parking on Eads Ave where the venue is, and a block up on Prospect St. This parking is free and close. However, they do street cleaning from 2am-6am on Fridays. As our wedding is on a Thursday, this would not be ideal if you plan to leave your car overnight. There is also street parking on Silverado St and Draper Ave. This parking is 2-hour limit from 8am - 6pm, and free after. If you are planning to party hard and are not parking at your hotel, this would be ideal to park at. Just remember to pick your car up by 8am to avoid a ticket. There are a few additional pay lots/garages in the area in addition to the above. I suggest using SpotAngels, Parkopedia, or ParkMe.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive an hour before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled! Our complimentary shuttle seats from Hotel La Jolla will be limited so getting an early start will ensure you arrive to the venue before the ceremony starts. If you are driving, we recommend allotting time to find parking as street parking is not guaranteed but there are parking garages nearby. We recommend arriving to the venue no later than 3:45-4:00pm.

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Please see our Getting Here section for hotel accommodation suggestions. We've blocked out a number of rooms for our guests' convenience at the Hotel La Jolla, Curio Collection by Hilton. This is where we will be staying as well and encourage our guests to stay. Unfortunately, as of 8/10/2021, the room block is now full. The hotel is nearly sold out, but rooms are still available at the regular rate. Please click "VIEW" on the page below to book. Will transportation be provided between to/from the hotel?

Answer

Heck yes! For those of you staying at Hotel La Jolla, we've arranged a complimentary Shuttle through the hotel to take you to the Cuvier Club. They will be running at 3:15p, 3:30p and 3:45p to take you to the venue. The shuttle only holds 6 people. You can pre-arrange pickup from Cuvier Club as well, but please note, the hotel shuttle is only available until 9pm. If you prefer to arrive/depart "in style", we have also arranged for a Party Bus to bring guests to and from the venue. This will be helpful since the hotel shuttle only holds 6 people at a time. The party bus holds 20-25 people per ride and is on a first come first serve basis. Please arrive to the bus departure time early as seats are limited. If you cannot make the below times or the bus is full, please arrange your own transportation via Uber/Lyft or hotel shuttle. When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?

Please RSVP by 8/1/2021. You may RSVP by mail or through our website RSVP section. Please note, due to budget, we can only accommodate those listed on your invitation.

When can we begin to RSVP?

Answer

You can begin to RSVP directly on the website once the formal wedding invitations go out in June/July. You can also mail back the RSVP card that is included in the wedding invitation. If you know that you will not be able to make it prior to the RSVP window, please let us know via phone call, text, or e-mail and we will plan accordingly.

Yes, we encourage you to post pictures on to your social media channels! Our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #ItsMintzToBe and #MyBigFatFilipinoGreekWedding so we can keep track of all of your pictures! Our WeddingMix Videography will be pulling anything from social media with these hashtags for our wedding video as well.

How long will you be in town?

We're planning on staying in San Diego from 9/28/21-10/2/21. We want to make sure we are able to spend time with anyone who's coming to town. Let us know if you plan on hanging around!

Any other events we should know about?

Answer

We know a lot of you are coming from out of town and we would love to spend the most time we can with you. We will be having the dress rehearsal the night before the wedding. However, please feel free to join us after dinner around 7:30pm at Draft Republic La Jolla. We will be there for a while to hang with anyone in town a little early. Please let us know if you plan to attend. Directly following the wedding, feel free to go back to your rooms, change your clothes and meet us back downstairs. We will be hanging out at the Hotel La Jolla's outdoor lounge area (as long as we do not get kicked out or fall asleep). Please BYOB. The day after the wedding, we plan to hang out with friends/family at La Jolla Shores Beach, a 15-minute walk or 5-minute drive from Hotel La Jolla. You can find details on the "Our Wedding Day" section. We will arrive around noon and hang out for the day! Please bring your own beach essentials (swimsuits, towels, umbrellas, coolers, food/drinks, games, etc).
