Our Story
It was Memorial Day weekend in 2021, and the weather was exactly what you’d hope to avoid: cold, rainy, and downright miserable. Joe was coaching a crew race on the Schuylkill River, and after a soggy day, he decided to stop by Hilltown Tavern, a beloved spot in his old neighborhood for some warmth and a meal. Behind the bar was Megan, expertly managing the holiday crowd while dreaming of her escape to Harrisburg—thanks to the rain, her shore plans were dashed.
Though Joe was just another drenched patron, he couldn’t help but notice Megan. He learned she worked Thursday nights, so he did the only logical thing: he returned that Thursday. With a little nudge from a regular, Joe left his number on the receipt. Unbeknownst to him, Meg was already planning to look him up! She texted him the next day, they arranged their first date at The Rook, and the rest is history. They’ve been inseparable ever since!
