Meara's version: I knew that a proposal was coming, I just didn't know when. Every time I would bring it up to Joseph, he would casually say, "You'll know when it happens." (Ha ha ha....) We had an appointment for senior pictures, and even though the weather was looking iffy, our photographer was adamant about moving forward with the shoot, rain or shine. As we moved through the photoshoot, our photographer switched gears from senior pictures to couple's pictures. Nearing the end of the shoot, she told Joseph to whisper something sweet in my ear. He whispered, "It's happening!" At first, I thought he was kidding! Next thing I know, the man of my dreams is on one knee, asking me to marry him. Of course I said yes! Joseph's version: What a day! I woke up so excited but I had to play it cool. I kept thinking how lucky I was for these past six years to and how to keep her from figuring out my plan! I hid the ring for a month, and with Sophia’s help, I decided to propose during senior pictures- BUT THIS IDEA ALMOST FAILED TOO! One day Meara hinted at my exact idea for proposing, so I had to play it off- not fun. A week before the pictures, I contacted the photographer, she was all for helping me out. A few hours before the pictures, I was stressing due to rain, but the photographer wasn’t letting anything stop the plan. We met the photographer and took a few senior pictures, and went to a beautiful pond to capture the proposal. As we made our way to the spot, the photographer told me it was time. Meara suggested I empty my pockets for the pictures, THIS IS WHERE THE RING WAS, but she was still clueless, and I was able to keep the ring hidden. The lady told me say something sweet to Meara, (our code), so I whispered, “It’s happening!” My plan worked and I am now engaged the most beautiful woman in the whole wide world. I am the luckiest man ever and I am so excited to start this new chapter in our lives!
