At Sundance Mountain Resort you ride the scenic lift up and hike to Stewart Falls, a dramatic two-tiered waterfall that drops about 200 feet off the back side of Mount Timpanogos. The lift takes the climb out of it, and from the top it's roughly a 3-mile out-and-back through forest and meadows with big Timpanogos views. The chairlift runs from 10 AM in summer and is around $26, and parking at the resort is free.
This is where Team USA trained for the 2002 Winter Olympics, and it's a blast in summer. You can ride the Quicksilver alpine slide, take on ziplines (including an extreme one that launches off a real Olympic ski jump), and watch freestyle skiers train into a splash pool. Day passes start around $80 and it's open 10 to 5.
Our top pick for the whiskey lovers. Their distillery tour and tasting walks you through how it's made and finishes with a flight of their award-winning whiskey. It's 21+, runs Wednesday through Sunday, and books up fast, so reserve ahead (reservations open about 30 days out).
A bit of a hike from Park City (35 Minutes into Salt Lake City), the site of Madi and my first date! A first date party, the photo is an actual picture of us on our first date! The beers are delicious, and they have an outdoor area with games! - Book dinner across the street at Cosmica for the best Italian the city has to offer!
Tucked inside a 55-foot limestone dome about 25 minutes from Park City, the Homestead Crater is a hidden geothermal spring you'd never guess was there. The mineral-rich water stays a toasty 90 to 96 degrees year-round, and you climb down into the dome to soak in a glowing blue grotto that's 65 feet deep. If you're feeling adventurous, you can snorkel, try stand-up paddleboard yoga, or even scuba dive, and they run intro dives for first-timers. It's a soak unlike anywhere else, and a fun, low-key outing for the group. Sessions run about $28 for an hour, life vests are provided, and you'll want to reserve ahead since spots fill up fast.
If you follow along online, you might already recognize Ballerina Farm, the family-run farm just outside Park City. Their flagship Farm Store in Midway (about 25 minutes away) is a fun one to wander: a farm-to-basket market stocked with their own meats, warm fresh-baked goods, pantry staples, and curated small-batch finds, with samples and treats coming out of the kitchen. Closer to the dairy in Kamas (about 20 minutes), the Farm Stand carries fresh produce, local eggs, and their most popular products, plus a soft-serve ice cream truck daily from 11 to 6. Both are open Monday through Saturday and closed Sundays, and they offer dairy tours if you want to meet the cows. Bonus: the Midway store is just down the road from the Homestead Crater, so the two make an easy pairing.
