They were connected on IG for almost a year through their obsession for foodporn before any kind of contact. Lora messaged him after viewing a delectable cheesesteak in Joe’s story, and the rest is history. A year after their first conversation, Lora moved from NYC to VA to lean into love.

They had already discussed marriage in 2023, so a surprise proposal didn’t feel necessary to either of them. At the end of 2024, Lora’s dad, without prompt, asked Joe “when’re you getting married?”. Joe confidently and quickly replied with no hesitation, “*very* soon”.

They had a small ceremony only inviting immediate family and wore attire that suited their personal styles vs traditional “wedding” colors. They plan to celebrate their anniversary annually on a day that’s insignificant to the both of them—New Year’s Eve. Plus, it’ll feel like the whole world is celebrating along with them.
