Flight

Flying to Italy

Most guests will be flying from Miami, though others may depart from elsewhere. Depending on your travel plans, there are many ways to get to Montichiello, Italy! There are direct flights from Miami (MIA) to Rome (FCO) via ITA Airways, and many one-stop options to Rome, Florence (FLR), or Milan (MXP) through various airlines. You might want to fly straight to Italy and back just for the wedding, or make it part of a longer European trip — either way, there’s no one “right” way to get there. In any case, we recommend booking early for the best routes and fares.

Train

Train to Florence

Italy’s train system is fast, reliable, and scenic — a great way to travel between major cities. If you're planning time in Rome, Florence, or Milan before the wedding, you can take a high-speed train to Florence, then drive into the Tuscan countryside from there. Rome to Florence: ~1.5 hours Milan to Florence: ~2 hours Some Tuscan towns are connected by regional trains, but service can be limited in the countryside — so for exploring and attending the wedding, we recommend having a car.

Rental Car

Drive into Tuscany

Once you’re ready to head into Tuscany, renting a car is highly recommended. It’s the easiest way to reach the venue, explore the countryside, and get to/from your accommodations. You can rent a car from Rome for a longer scenic drive through central Italy, from Florence for a more direct route into Tuscany, or from any city where your travels take you prior to the wedding. Whichever route you choose, having your own transportation in Tuscany will make things smoother and give you the freedom to enjoy the region at your own pace.

Hotel

It offers a variety of accommodations, restaurants, and shops, all within a walkable historic center. Monticchiello A small, quiet village just a few minutes from the venue. Perfect for guests who want something more intimate and tucked away. Everywhere in Between The area is full of unique stays — you can also stay at a nearby agriturismo, villa, or podere in the countryside. – TYPES OF STAYS – Agriturismo Farm stays, often with rustic charm, home-cooked meals, and beautiful views. Many produce their own wine or olive oil. Villa Larger private homes, ideal for families or small groups. Often come with pools and outdoor space. Podere Traditional Tuscan country houses, now often restored as guest accommodations. Hotels/B&Bs Found mostly in towns like Pienza and Monticchiello, these offer a more familiar hotel-style experience with a local feel.
