On August 14, 2022, Krystal and Joseph met at Fair Play while playing beach volleyball. Joseph was subbing for Krystal's team, and afterward Krystal stayed to sub for his team. His team wasn't exactly dominating the court, so Krystal spent a little time side-eyeing him. But despite that, Krystal found herself enjoying every chance she got to play alongside him. The next week, he asked Krystal to sub again. Somewhere between the serves, the rallies, and the sand, something started to change. The high-fives lasted a little too long, their hands lingered a little longer than usual, and when they looked at each other, it often felt like they were the only two people on the court. They kept playing volleyball together whenever possible, and on September 12, 2022, they officially started dating. Emory met her Jojo and Krystal and Joe met their forever. Since then, they have shared more than just volleyball games. They have walked through career changes, graduations, new opportunities, difficult goodbyes, unexpected challenges, and countless new beginnings. Life hasn't always been easy, and the journey has included plenty of ups and downs, but they have continued to choose each other through it all. On May 15, 2025, Joseph asked Krystal to marry him. In a fun bit of coincidence, May 15 is also the day Krystal caught the bouquet at a wedding back in 2021. Maybe it was a sign all along. One of their favorite stories happened before they even knew they were expecting. Joseph had a dream that they would have a daughter named Ayla. Months later, that dream became reality when they welcomed their beautiful daughter, Ayla, into the world on January 6, 2026. Their story isn't perfect, and there's so much more to be written—a story of friendship, perseverance, growth, love, and choosing each other again and again.
