Things To Do

As many of you know, Gina spent much of her adult life in Minneapolis, and the Twin Cities will always hold a special place in our hearts. From scenic parks and world-class museums to the brewery where Gina once slung beers, there’s so much to see, do, and sip while you’re here. Below are a few of our favorite local spots to check out. And if you're a fellow foodie, don’t hesitate to ask Gina for restaurant recs—Minneapolis is full of amazing eats from all kinds of cuisines!

Willow River State Park

1034 County Highway A, Hudson, WI 54016

Just a short drive north from our wedding venue, this scenic state park features wooded trails, river views, and a stunning waterfall. Perfect for a peaceful hike or a picnic if you're craving some fresh air and nature vibes. Wisconsin Plates: $13 day pass, Out of State Plates: $16 day pass.

Stillwater

Stillwater, MN 55082

This charming riverfront town is full of historic character, cute shops, and great spots to grab a bite or a drink. While you're there, swing by Lift Bridge Brewery for a local brew and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere. Stillwater is especially beautiful in the fall!

Minneapolis Institute of Art

2400 3rd Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55404

This world-class art museum has free admission and an impressive collection that spans thousands of years and cultures. A great way to spend an afternoon if you're looking for something inspiring and indoors.

Minneapolis Sculpture Garden

725 Vineland Place, Minneapolis, MN 55403

Home to the iconic Spoonbridge and Cherry, this outdoor art park is perfect for a casual stroll and a few fun photo ops. It’s also right next to the Walker Art Center if you want to explore even more art.

Minnehaha Falls

Minneapolis, MN 55417

A must-see natural gem right in the city! Walk or bike around the surrounding park, rent a paddleboat, or just enjoy the view of this 53-foot waterfall. Don't skip on grabbing a bite at Sea Salt, a local favorite.

Mill City Museum

704 South 2nd Street, Minneapolis, MN 55401

History meets beauty here. The museum, built into the ruins of what was once the world’s largest flour mill, tells the story of Minneapolis' milling past. Afterward, take a walk across the Stone Arch Bridge for amazing views of the Mississippi River and downtown skyline.

La Doña Cervecería Brewery

241 Fremont Avenue North, Minneapolis, MN 55405

A vibrant, Latin-influenced brewery with great beer, community energy, and a welcoming vibe. It also happens to be where Gina used to bartend—so grab a pint, raise a glass, and say a little toast to the bride! Pro tip: It’s just a short drive from the Sculpture Garden, making it a perfect spot to grab a bite and a brew after taking in the art!
