While residing in sunny San Diego, California, Diana was stationed as an airline flight attendant, driven by her passion for traveling. With Joe's aerospace affliction, and similar love for adventure, Diana quickly caught his attention! He immediately fell so head over heels, the first weekend together Diana readily convinced him to join her on a last minute trip across the border to Tijuana, Mexico... WITHOUT his passport! Their trip and return back into San Diego succeeded, and Joe has been chasing Diana and her travels around the country ever since!

Disguised as a typical hiking adventure, Joe lured Diana to the secluded shores of Honeymoon State Park, near scenic coastal Tampa Bay, Florida. After a shady hike along an adjacent beach, they enjoyed Bald Eagle sightings and crystal clear shorelines. After the hike, on an unpopulated strip of beach surrounded by Mangrove trees and an ocean breeze, Joe set up what was thought to be a regular photo shoot, with his camera on a tripod to take advantage of the beautiful view. Instead he began recording a video. After posing for an initial "photo", Joe went down on his knee, saying: "Mi Luna, you have always been my Moon, but I was wondering if you'd say yes to becoming my whole universe?"
