It's Happening!

Dear Friends and Family, You may have noticed some of our wedding details have changed - God Bless 2020! Although our date has been moved up, our venue looks a little different, and we are now going for a “backyard” style, our love for each other continues to grow stronger with each passing day. We’ve learned to go with the flow and truly believe with every fiber of our beings that this day will be as magical as we’ve always planned it would be. We understand some of these changes may affect your ability to attend and want you to know that regardless you will be in our hearts as we celebrate what will be the best day of our lives. December 5th, 2017 was Devan's first day on the job at MCR and also the day she was about to receive patient report from the most handsome tall drink of water... While extremely nervous and retaining only every other sentence, she did remember his beautiful blue eyes, the way he carried himself as a nurse, and that he enjoyed snowboarding in his free time. The next time Joey saw Devan he asked "what's your name again?". Devan wasn't sure if he trying to play it "cool" or if he'd honestly forgotten her name after such a "memorable" first interaction. Regardless, she chose to re-introduce herself and made sure to give him a hard enough time about it so he wouldn't (pretend) to forget it again. They got to know each other on night shift, he'd especially watch out for her as she grew into her new role on the unit. Devan was outgoing but guarded against the idea of letting anyone too close, Joey was patient and kind. So it took 9 months to go on the first date, but after that Devan was all in just as Joey had always been. Cue the adventures- hiking, skiing, biking, running, rock climbing, paddle boarding, camping, and traveling. Following nearly two years full of so much love and countless memories, Joey asked Devan to marry him in Brugge, Belgium on September 14, 2019. She of course said YES because there is no other person that makes her life more complete than him. The happy couple purchased their first home in the beautiful city of Fort Collins, Colorado on December 5, 2019. In the meantime, Devan and Joey will continue loving to the fullest, growing into their new home, working their butts off, and planning one badass wedding! We can't wait to see you all in 2021!!
