Attire: Smart / Festive. It will be hot — April in Quang Nam reaches 30–35°C and ceremonies are under a tent, so wear light, breathable fabrics. Please avoid white, which is associated with mourning in Vietnamese tradition. Men: Trousers and a collared shirt. Women: Summer dress or smart trousers.
The traditional ceremony starts exactly at 09:00 — this was set by a Feng Shui master and late entry is not possible. Shuttle cars leave the Muong Thanh Hotel at 08:15 sharp. It will be hot. Drink plenty of water, wear sunscreen, and dress in light fabrics. Gifts: the Vietnamese tradition is a red envelope (phong bì đỏ) with cash inside. Red envelopes can be purchased locally in Vietnam.
