What should I wear?

Answer

We want the evening to feel elegant and celebratory, so we’d love for guests to join us in black tie if they’re able. That said, formal attire of any kind is welcome, and we want everyone to feel comfortable and confident.

Are kids invited?

We love your little ones, but this will be an adults-only celebration.

When does the ceremony begin?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30 PM. We kindly ask guests to arrive a bit early and be seated by 5:20 PM so we can begin on time and enjoy the full celebration together.

Will the ceremony be unplugged?

Answer

Yes! We kindly ask that guests keep phones and cameras tucked away during the ceremony. We’ve hired a wonderful photographer to capture the moment, and we would love for everyone to be fully present with us. We promise to share photos afterward!

Will the ceremony and reception take place at the same location?

Answer

Yes! The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all take place at The Willard Hotel, so there’s no need to travel between venues throughout the evening.

Will any part of the celebration be held outdoors?

Answer

Yes. Weather permitting, our cocktail hour will take place outdoors. We recommend guests dress accordingly for the season.

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

We kindly ask that guests only bring a plus-one if their invitation includes one.

Where should I stay?

Answer

We’ve reserved room blocks at the The Willard, JW Marriott, and Residence Inn. You’ll find all booking links on the Travel page. Since our weekend overlaps with GWU graduation, hotels will book quickly — we recommend reserving your room as soon as you’re able!

Valet parking is available at the venue. For ease and convenience, we recommend using Uber, Lyft, or a taxi service.
