The first time we ever saw each other was at Joseph’s church in Independence. Anna’s dad preached there in January 2016, but we were both awkward and shy. After that first encounter, we ran into each other at different youth groups. Once Joseph learned a little more about Anna’s character from a couple of friends in 2019, he knew he wanted to get to know her more. They both participated in the 2020 Book of Mormon Summer Internship. It just so happened that the air conditioning broke down in Joseph’s car. Because of this he asked Anna, who lived only a couple minutes away at the time, to pick him up for class while his car was in the shop. Those car rides continued throughout the Internship and turned into most every day that we drove together. We spent countless hours discussing the deep topics of life and also just being silly and having fun. In February 2021, Joseph divulged that he liked Anna and was interested in a relationship. On July 4, 2021, we went to Anna’s home in Wichita for the first time together. Joseph talked to Anna’s dad, and their relationship was made official. Since then, our relationship really blossomed. Joseph proposed to Anna on August 18, 2023 at Burr Oak Woods on the trail where we loved to take walks. Now we are getting married! We credit the Lord in getting us together. His timing is perfect and we truly believe that He led us to each other.
