What should I know about a Hindu wedding?

Answer

Hindu weddings are rich in tradition and typically span multiple days, each with its own meaning and celebration. There may be music, rituals, colorful attire, and lots of joyful moments. We’re so excited to share these traditions with you and truly appreciate your presence as we celebrate.

Where do the events take place?

You can find addresses on the physical invitation. If you have not received this as yet, please contact Joe, Amanda, or any of their close friends or family and they will try to help you.

Do I need to attend every event?

Answer

Not at all! We completely understand that attending multiple events over several days may not be possible for everyone. Please feel free to join us for whichever events you’re able to attend. Your presence at any part of the celebration means so much to us.

Will there be food at any events?

Answer

A variety of vegetarian Guyanese and Indian snacks and cuisine will be served during the first three events. Some ceremonies, like the wedding, can run long, so feel free to have a snack beforehand if needed. At the reception, there will be an expanded menu featuring both non-vegetarian and vegetarian options, along with alcoholic beverages. If you have dietary restrictions or allergies, please let us know ahead of time so we can do our best to accommodate everyone and ensure all guests can enjoy the meals safely and joyfully.

Can I take my own photos/videos?

We have a professional photographer capturing our special moments throughout the weekend. We encourage you to take your own photos and share them on social media using our hashtag: #AmandaGotHerCupofJoe Please be mindful not to block or interrupt the professional photographer during ceremonies and key moments, and respect the sacred spaces where rituals are taking place.

Can I bring a plus-one?

We love that you want to share this celebration with someone special! Due to limited space, we can only accommodate guests listed on the invitation. Thank you for understanding.

Is there a registry?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift! Gifting is not required, but for those who wish to give, we have a registry on ZOLA under the “Registry” tab. Please do not bring boxed or wrapped gifts to the wedding or reception. If you purchase a registry gift, we’d be grateful if it’s ordered ahead and shipped to our home. This helps keep gifts secure and avoids transporting them between venues. If you’d like to give a card, an envelope/card box will be available at the reception. Thank you for your love and support!
