Who knew that Hecht, McDonlad, floor 2 would become a place they fondly remembered for the rest of thier lives? Definitely not freshman Joe and Alix when they met! The first time they met was in their friend's dorm room in early November of their freshman year at UM. They were introduced by one of Alix's girl friends who was interested in one of Joe's guy friends! Little did they know their introduction would lead to marriage!

Their first official date was December 4th, 2016 to Art Basel in Miami Beach. They spent the day looking art various art exhibits and had lunch at the botanical gardens out back. Art Basel has become a huge part of their lives every year and is why they chose the weekend after Art Basel in 2022 for the wedding date. From the art, to parties, to friends, there is truly no better time of year in Miami.

On Joe's 20th Birthday, Alix surprised him with a dinner at the infamous Versace Maison. After a bottle and a half of champagne, Alix and Joe were hysterically laughing and Alix goes "This is where we will get married" and Joe said "I was thinking the same thing." It was that night, they knew they would get married and have their wedding in Miami.

Alix and Joe went downtown Detroit to one their favorite art galleries showing one of their favorite artists - Daniel Arsham (who actually designed Joe's suit for the wedding!) and afterwards surprised Alix with a stay at the Shinola Hotel. Upon walking into their room, he proposed in a room full of roses and over a glass of their favorite champagne.

All of their closest friends and family came into Michigan to celebrate for an entire weekend of champagne and cerebrations. After that amazing weekend, Alix and Joe went to their favorite city - Paris - and continued their celebrations with more champagne but this time in the Champagne Region of France!
