This is where a lot of our clan will be staying, and it's also where the bus to the wedding will be picking people up! It is centrally located, walking distance to all the Honky Tonkin' your heart could ever dream of, a gastropub, a nice steakhouse, and a great coffee spot inside. Groovy!
This is our favorite honky tonk on Broadway, still playing classic country and bluegrass, from Johnny Cash to Patsy Cline, there's no way you'll be disappointed. What's more? Patrons dance on the dance floor like they did in the old days! :) What do we say to that? Swing 'yer partner do-si-do! Cheers!
If you have time for a beautiful country drive, taking the Old Hillsboro Road out to the picturesque, Hallmark town that is Franklin, TN, should be included in your Tennessee itinerary! With the cutest shops and restaurants, it's a wonderful way to spend your afternoon. Lunch at Gray's never disappoints + White's Mercantile is the most darling shop, owned by Hank Williams Jr.'s daughter, Holly.. So cute! Enjoy!
The cutest village in the south, established in 1700s! Still has the old dirt road. Fox + Locke is awesome.. great music often (check their website) and great food. Country Boy is also a cute, old diner. Cute antique shops, art galleries.. The lady Brooke Giannetti of Velvet and Linen just opened a lovely shop there. It's all just beautiful. Worth the drive. Visit Franklin and Leiper's Fork on the same day, then swing back to Nash for a fine dinner or a honk down Honky Tonk Lane! Woohoo!
This place stole my heart all the way back in 2007 and remains one of our favorite destinations when we have time for a long country drive and a biscuit hangover. Truly cool to me as this originated as a motel where legends like Elvis would visit while stopping through Nashville. They have the best biscuits in town, cute red checkered table cloths and that original southern charm I fell in love with so long ago. Ask to sit on the original side if you drive out there.
A must-see for any and all country music fans, and happens to be attached to our hotel, The Omni. Spend a couple hours here learning about the history of country music from days of yonder to now, yeehaw!
A Nashville must is visiting the historic, "Mother Church", the Ryman Auditorium! If someone you like is playing a show while you're visiting, we highly recommend buying the tickets and going. This place is just special. We've seen everyone here multiple times and will continue going every chance we have until the lights go out. Just magical! They also do tours during the day.
If driving out to Franklin isn't in the cards, 12South is a must! A sweet dose of the southern charm we all love, and only about 10 minute uber from downtown. Imogene + Willie is a cool denim shop and Bar Taco is fun for a mid-day marg and tacos.. You might even steal a peek at Reese Witherspoon in her store, Draper James. Whatever your choice, be sure to soak in the sweet southern breeze, enjoy!
