Dear family and friends, We have made the extremely difficult decision to postpone our May 23, 2020 wedding at the Ryland Inn due to COVID-19 and out of health and safety concerns for our loved ones. We have been blessed to have been offered a new date of Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Ryland Inn. After discussing with our families and loved ones we have decided to move to this new date. The ceremony and receptions times remain the same so please hold onto your original invite! We will be sending out change the date/updated invites in the next week or two so please keep a look out! A new response set will be included with an RSVP date of August 1, 2020. If you reserved a hotel through the room block we established, you may cancel your room for May. We are working with Marriott right now to create a new room block and new link so that our guests may reserve for our new date. Dear friends and family, I hope you are staying safe and healthy during this time. These are unprecedented times and so much is still uncertain. As you can imagine, Joe and I have been having many discussions about the status of our wedding. I am sure that many of you are wondering the same thing. We have been in close contact with the Ryland Inn and as of right now they are asking us to hold tight for a little bit longer and not make the decision to postpone the wedding. So as of March 21, 2020, the wedding is still scheduled for May 23, 2020. I think the best word we can use to describe the situation is "hopeful." We are hopeful that we will still be able to unite in marriage and celebrate with you all in a healthy and safe way should we permitted to do so. Joe and Sasha met where many modern loves begin- online. Skeptical Sasha kept her guard up but was quickly swept off her feet when Joe charmed her with his history charged pick up lines. They bonded over their love for history even had their first date in a speakeasy bar in New Brunswick, NJ. At the end of the night, Joe insisted on walking her back her car which was in parking garage. Sasha's heart was pounding out of her chest as Joe sealed the night with a kiss and to this day the two of them joke about how even Joe could hear her heart pounding because she was so nervous. The rest is history!

The day before Mother’s day, my sister, Joe and I decided to take my mom to Asbury Park. When Joe and I were in the car on the way down, he said he had a surprise for me. He said we were going to Sea Bright to eat at Anjelica’s, a restaurant where we went on our first anniversary. I was really surprised and even found it a little odd but went along with it and was excited that we were going to spend together. Joe told me that our reservations were for 8pm but he wanted to leave a bit earlier so that we had time to see the old apt and walk on the beach. As we were driving, it started to drizzle and I suggested that we should just go to the restaurant if it was pouring by the time we got there but he insisted we still go. Once we got there, we parked and headed out to walk by the apartment and then the beach. It felt like we were living there again and all the memories came flooding back! We were the only ones on the beach with the exception of a woman taking pictures of the beach. Joe walked me down to the beach but I noticed he was leading me to a specific part of the beach and then he abruptly stopped. Then he took my two hands into his and began turning me so that I could face him. I thought it was weird and when I finally looked him into the eyes I knew what was happening and I pretty much lost it. The tears rolled in and I started getting really nervous and saying things like “what are you doing?” and “why are you acting like that?” I think he picked up on my nervousness and got nervous too because he kept trying to calm me down and talk to me. I really only remember tidbits because I was completely overwhelmed and then I noticed the woman who had been snapping pictures of the ocean was actually our proposal photographer! I remember Joe saying that he couldn’t imagine a more meaningful place than Sea Bright to start the next chapter of our lives and that I was the love of his life. Joe got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!
