Proposal

December 27th, 2019

So just to get this started, I said to Joseph: “Let’s go on a date!” It was Christmas time which means busy schedules and I wanted a night for just the two of us to relax. After I got home from work that evening, I got changed and said to him: “Should I just wear some comfy clothes?” His response was: “No, let’s get dressed up!” We headed out, and I had no idea what restaurant he was taking me to. We ended up pulling up to the Gathering Place, and he said we had a reservation at a restaurant around 8:15. It was about 7:45. So, we spent some time walking around the Gathering Place and ended up in a place where there was not anyone walking around. He stepped up onto a small grassy mound, and told me to come up there with him. I said: “Joe, I don’t think we are supposed to walk on the grass!” He replied stating: “Bekah, it’s okay, just come up here with me.” I slowly started to walk up and he grabs both of my hands. I could tell something was up just by the way he was looking at me. He then went on one knee and the rest is history! After he stood back up, I noticed there was a gentleman with a camera taking pictures! Joseph is good y’all! Afterwards, he said that we had a reservation at P. F. Changs up the street. Still in shock, we just giggled and chatted on the way there. Once we arrived, we walked towards the door and I said: “I’m so excited! I’m ready to just have a really nice dinner together.” We walked inside and he said: “Well, it might not be just the two of us...” I looked up and saw our families sitting down waving and clapping for us. I turned around and stuck my head in Joseph’s chest, and started to cry. We enjoyed dinner & it was nice to be able to tell everyone our story on the night it happened.
