🅿️ Starting at the Parking Lot (near 55th St. and Lake Shore Dr.)
Park in the pay-and-display lot near 55th Street, just west of Lake Shore Dr.
If you’re parked on the street, head toward East 55th Street, moving east toward the lake.
🚶 Walk to the Tunnel Under Lake Shore Dr.
Walk east along 55th Street until you reach the Lakefront Trail entry.
You'll find a pedestrian tunnel that runs beneath Lake Shore Dr.—go through it
🌿 Promontory Point Itself
Once through the tunnel, continue east onto the Lakefront Trail.
After a very short walk (a couple hundred feet), you’ll arrive at the Fountain—a charming marble fawn sculpture marking the park’s entrance
From there, the trail splits—take the right fork to reach the Field House and the scenic point overlooking Lake Michigan

No on-site parking at Promontory Point—vehicles aren’t allowed on the grass or pathways
Tunnel is accessible only via 55th St.
The walk from the parking lot to the Field House takes about 3–5 minutes.
