In January 2020, Jose and Melissa met at Tapestry church in the "Alpha" small group. They quickly formed a friendship but lost contact for various reasons. A year and a half later, in June 2021, Melissa text Jose due to a Facebook post she saw he posted. They ended up speaking every day that week. That was when Jose confessed to Melissa that he was attracted to her from the moment he laid eyes on her a year and a half ago. However, he said that he kept that to himself out of respect for her and what she was going through at the time. He explained how frustrating this was because God had told him, "That's your wife" when he first laid eyes on her, but she was not available, and it made no sense to Jose. Melissa was surprised to hear this, but at that moment, she saw Jose in a completely new light. The rest speaks for itself. We went on our first date June 25, 2021, made it official July 21, 2021, and were engaged by July 23, 2022. It's crazy what God can do and how He can restore the years that you think were lost or wasted.
