We both worked for the same Home Depot on opposite shifts. He was the overnight manager & I was a daytime associate. One day along with another coworker I expressed how I found José attractive, & she told me he was off limits to which I scuffed and left it at that. Fast forward months later Jose became a daytime manager during the same time I got promoted & with our departments being right next to each other we quickly grew a friendship! One day amongst talking about work tasks he asked for my number & the rest is history!

On a cold December night, we took a trip to the Zoo Lights with our children & parents. As we walked around admiring the lights & looking for animals, José kept asking to take pictures. To which I opposed time and time again because I knew he wasn’t one for photos! He stopped under the main set of lights to take a picture, to which I replied “no there’s to many people”. Finally coming out of one of the animal exhibits there was a bridge with lights strung all across it, that made for the prettiest winter pictures. Jose took the chance of an empty bridge and INSISTED we took photos there. After a few pictures were snapped I grabbed the stroller to leave, & he stated there was one more thing to do. He took a box out of his coat and got down on one knee, to which my immediate response was to walk away crying! Eventually I came back and said yes!
