From the early days of our relationship, Josefina and I talked about marriage often. While we both felt that we were the right people for each other, we didn’t want to rush things and were intentional and thoughtful about the process. During this time, we spent many years deepening our love, growing together into the people we are today. I have really cherished being by Josefina’s side through the successes and losses life has had for us, traveling to new places, experiencing new things, and I hope to continue that throughout our entire lives. I have loved being her biggest cheerleader, and I’m so proud to call her my fiancé. There was no one moment that told me “I’m going to marry this woman” but instead an overwhelming thousand little moments told me that Josefina was my person now and for forever. To convey how I felt and how I wanted to be by her side forever, I recruited the help of Josefina’s family to help secretly organize a surprise proposal with the people she cared about most to celebrate with us and to witness the proposal. While the surprise portion maybe wasn’t so much a surprise, I asked Josefina to marry me on April 11th in the gazebo we first met at in the Marietta square, and she made me the happiest man by saying yes! We are so excited to have all of you come to join us in Adairsville to celebrate with us and be part of the continuation of our story. - Keegan
Keegan is a man of his word! He told me he wanted to wait five years before marriage, when after two years I was certain he was the one for me. Lo and behold, five years later he proposes. LOL he's patient and stubborn, people! Nonetheless, I am so thankful everyday to share my life with Keegan; he cheers me up, makes me smile, and understands me so deeply that he is my true home. We are so excited to share our wedding together with all of the people we love so much. Thank you for all your support, excitement, and commitment in helping celebrate our lives together. Regarding the proposal, it was the most special surprise Keegan wishes he could've pulled on me. Late on a Wednesday night, I couldn't sleep. I stayed up and was thinking about his weird behavior and it clicked that on Friday he was going to propose. On Thursday, I bought a new dress, and on Friday I was ready with my hair and makeup done by 9AM. Haha in my heels, we went all around town (while my family decorated my house secretly for the engagement party). And by 6PM, I was so hangry and had bad blisters from the heels, I was ready for it to happen already! I knew it was on Friday but I had no idea when. When Keegan finally got down on one knee at the Marietta Square where we had our first date, I felt like time moved in slow motion. I tried enjoying every second and didn't want it to end. He held the ring out and looked up at me on one knee while smiling like the cutest guy I'd ever seen, eep! I was so happy to say 'yes!' and dance to Celine Dion all night with my family at our epic surprise engagement party at our house.
