You’re invited to our destination wedding in Puerto Rico!

Jessica and Jose met in January 2020 when Jose relocated from Puerto Rico to work as an RN in Springfield, Missouri. They became work friends on a Medical Surgical floor, discovering shared interests in fitness, nutrition, and sneakers. They also enjoyed playing sports together with other work friends on softball and volleyball teams.

Jose and Jessica discovered mutual attraction and started dating. Jessica graduated from nursing school, while Jose worked to gain ICU RN experience to meet the qualifications for CRNA (certified registered nurse anesthetist) programs. Before his acceptance into a university in Puerto Rico, Jose began travel nursing. Despite the long distance, the couple maintained their relationship. Jessica worked as an ER travel RN in Missouri, while Jose dedicated his time to studying anesthesia in Puerto Rico.

Jessica had a sports injury, making travel nursing and single motherhood difficult with her newly broken arm. Jose flew in briefly to assist Jessica during her recovery. One evening, after eating at a Mexican restaurant with José and Jensen, Jessica made the comment “I wish you never had to leave”. Jose said “Are you sure? That’s what you want?”, pulling a ring box from his pocket. Jessica promptly accepted the engagement ring, and the trio happily celebrated with Andy’s Frozen custard.
