Our first date was at Ascension Coffee Shop at the Crescent Hotel in Dallas. After spending some time getting to know one another, it was clear we were both enjoying ourselves. Jose suggested that we upgrade the date to a glass of wine at Sixty Vines for part two of our first date. After a few glasses of wine that involved more talking and laughing, we went our separate ways... but not for long. That evening we met up again at Bowen House for the third and final chapter of our first date. Looking back, we both knew that three dates in one day just might lead to planning our wedding three years later.

Last December, on the first morning of our trip to Mexico City, Jose arranged a surprise hot air balloon ride over the Teotihuacan Pyramids. Despite Jose's fear of heights, he popped the question just after sunrise. Of course, the answer was "Yes!" so we popped a bottle of champagne in our hot air balloon to celebrate!
