How we met

It all began at a friend's birthday party- one of those nights you almost didn't dress up for, but somehow everything fell into place anyway. You walked in expecting the usual: music, laughter, the same familiar faces. What you didn't expect was to meet the person who would completely change your life. Blanca: The moment I walked in, I noticed someone look up. Him. He didn't stare, but it was enough for me to catch it. And something about his expression made me smile without even meaning to. I remember thinking he had a warm smile, the kind that made you feel safe even if you didn't know him yet. We didn't talk much that night, but something about him stuck with me A little while later, I was scrolling through Facebook dating, not expecting anything special... and there he was. The same familiar smile. The same feeling that made me pause. We matched and suddenly the small moment from the party turned into real conversations- the kind that make you laugh, think, and feel seen. It didn't take long before we decided to meet in person. Our first date at Dave & Buster's felt easy and fun, like being around someone I'd known for years. We joked around, played games, and talked about life in a way that didn't feel forced. I left that knowing there was something different about him. And as things grew, we didn't rush. We prayed. We trusted God. We asked for guidance. And slowly, beautifully, we realized that choosing each other wasn't an accident - it was fate. Jose: I was just planning to be at this birthday party to hang out, eat some food and talk with some family and friends- nothing special. Then she walked in I remember that moment clearly. She had this presence that made the whole room shift just a little, this light around her - something gentle, something genuine. I tried to play it cool, but I definitely noticed her right away. I kept catching myself glancing over, hoping she didn't think I was staring. We didn't talk much, but I remembered her. How could I not? Then one day, there she was on Facebook dating. I stared at her profile for a second, thinking, that's the girl from the party. I swiped - and when we matched, it felt like God was nudging something into motion. Talking to her felt natural from the start. She had a way of making simple conversations feel meaningful. So I asked her out, and we decided on Dave & Buster's - the perfect mix of fun and getting the nerves out. The first date showed me everything I needed to know. She was real. She was kind. She was intentional. And she had a faith that matched mine - something rare, something beautiful. Before long, we both agreed: If we were going to do this, we were going to let God lead it. We trusted Him, and we trusted each other. And that decision - that step of faith - turned into a relationship that keeps growing stronger every single day. From a simple party, to a match online, to a first date full of laughter and games... and finally a shared commitment to God and to each other. Our love didn't just "happen." It was guided, chosen, and built with intention and lead us exactly where we were meant to be.
