Anna and José met through a mutual friend at a BBQ in 2012 while Anna was living in Napa for a summer internship. Neither of them thought much of it until they saw each other a month later in downtown Napa where they spent the evening with friends playing pool and beer pong. It was then they decided to exchange numbers. A month later, Anna moved back to Michigan to finish school at Michigan State. Both Anna and José kept in touch and visited each other several times before Anna moved back to San Francisco for work after she graduated. José was working at The French Laundry and they had conflicting schedules making it difficult to find time to hang out. Things became a little easier when Anna moved to Napa for work, but she moved again a year later. Despite the distance and busy schedules they always found ways to have fun and spend some time together; between trips to Michigan, Mexico, visiting friends in NYC and Chicago. When José concluded his time at The French Laundry he moved down to Palo Alto to try his hand at Private Chef life and be with Anna. After adjusting to the extra time together and both getting used to new jobs, the two made a bet. If the Patriots won the Super Bowl they would get a puppy (not sure why José would bet against his own team, let alone the Patriots). This is when Gronk the Rottweiler came into the picture in the spring of 2017, and was their second fur baby (Maverick being their first, which José played a roll in too). José proposed before Anna’s 30th birthday in March. This was the week before everything shut down due to COVID. Such a great time to be a newly engaged couple! They have spent some serious quality time together, and Anna has been beyond spoiled by José and his cooking. Every. Single. Night. The two are so excited to begin a new chapter together as they approach 10 years of knowing each other. They are ecstatic to be able to share their special day with you!
