Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Alondra Ramos and Jose Cortez
We're so excited to share some of our favorite places in the areas with you! After moving to Florida when I was 10, I would go to Puerto Rico every summer to visit my friends and family. Finally during summer 2021, after 7 years together, I was able to show Jose around Puerto Rico. Check below for some of our favorite things to do!
Viejo San Juan

Viejo San Juan

San Juan, San Juan, Puerto Rico

Old San Juan is home to the San Juan National Historic Site, with buildings dating from the 16th century, including the San Felipe del Morro and San Cristóbal fortresses and the old city walls. The Bautista Cathedral houses the tomb of Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León. Brightly colored houses line cobbled streets and shady plazas, alongside cool cocktail bars and renowned Caribbean fusion restaurants.

Cayo Icacos

Cayo Icacos

Fajardo 00738, Puerto Rico

Start your day with an optional pickup from hotels in San Juan, or make your own way to the marina in Fajardo. As your catamaran pulls up anchor and heads into the cerulean seas, check out great views of the coastline’s beaches, plus scenic vistas of nearby El Yunque National Forest. Don’t forget to enjoy a piña colada, rum punch, soda or juice from the bar on the way.

Castillo de San Cristóbal

Castillo de San Cristóbal

501 Calle Norzagaray, San Juan, San Juan 00901, Puerto Rico
, +1 787-449-4049

Castillo San Cristóbal is a fortress in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It was built by the Spanish to protect against land-based attacks on the city of San Juan. It is part of San Juan National Historic Site. Castillo San Cristóbal is the largest fortification built by the Spanish in the New World.

El Yunque

El Yunque

Río Grande 00745, Puerto Rico

Hike through Puerto Rico’s lush El Yunque Rainforest, observe local wildlife, and take a dip in one of the park’s pristine waterfalls. Journey through the varied micro-climates and vegetation zones of this unique natural area. Hike through the jungle, learning about the plants and animals that inhabit the area and passing by a series of waterfalls, stopping to cool off with a swim.

Culebra

Culebra

Culebra, Culebra, Puerto Rico

Make it a day trip or stay a few days, you won't regret it! Culebra is a small, sparsely populated island and surrounding group of cays off the east coast of Puerto Rico. In the northwest, Flamenco Beach is a long crescent of white sand and turquoise water backed by tree-covered hills. Nearby Tamarindo Beach offers clear waters full of fish, sea turtles and rays. In the southwest, Punta Melones beach is known as a viewpoint for dramatic sunsets.

Piñones

Piñones

Carolina, Loíza, Puerto Rico

Just minutes from San Juan and the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU), you can find the Afro-Caribbean coastal neighborhood of Piñones. Full of delicious authentic street food, made in the traditional fogón, the many little chinchorros (small dining stands) offer fritters made from plantain, fresh fish, oysters, and a lot sazón. You can also buy cold coconut water, drink it from the coconut itself, or try the crabmeat alcapurrias and bacalaítos (codfish fritters). The weekend is particularly busy if you want to find a bustling local scene. If you want to relax before you eat, be sure to bring your swimsuit and dive in at a nearby beach

Balneario La Monserrate Luquillo Beach

Balneario La Monserrate Luquillo Beach

Puerto Rico 3, Luquillo, Luquillo 00773, Puerto Rico

One of my personal favorite beaches on the island. The water is always warm, clear and the best part no waves! The perfect beach for kids! Balneario La Monserrate is located in the eastern region of Puerto Rico, specifically in the town of Luquillo. The beach is managed by the Puerto Rico Department of Natural Resources, which means that the beach has a few extra "perks" that set it apart from most beaches in Puerto Rico. The facilities include bathrooms, showers, green areas, picnic areas, among others.

For all the days along the way
