Our first date wasn't your typical one-on-one meet up. Jose asked me out to go bowling after talking for a couple of weeks on Facebook. I ended up bringing my brother and his friend because I was still skeptical about whether Jose was "real". Was I being catfished? Well, after 7 years, I'm happy to say that I definitely did not get catfished. Jose mentioned during our date that he had been eyeing me for quite some time. It wasn't until my mom posted a picture of me on my first day of college on Facebook, which was a few weeks prior to our first date, that gave him the motivation to message me and said, "hey there :)". So, thanks mom!
The Grand Canyon had been on our bucket list for a long time. While booking a New Years getaway trip with our close friends, I knew this was the appropriate destination to pop the question. After celebrating the start of a new year, we hiked down South Kaibab Trail early in the morning. Almost 2 miles down the trail, I finally found the perfect location (Not to mention Alejandra was shocked when she found out we had to hike back up another 2 miles). With the help of our friends, Alejandra was distracted long enough for me to get into position. Unsuspectedly, she turned around as I was down on one knee holding a ring in my hand. That is when I asked.... "Alejandra Karina Flores... Will you marry me?"
