First, thank you so much for traveling the distance to celebrate with us! We have provided a list of accommodations under our travel tab with links provided for each location. You do not have to choose the ones we provide, but we hope it helps your search.
Our wedding will be indoors, but our reception will be outdoors. If we anticipate rain, we will have a big tent ready to celebrate under. We suggest wearing shoes that work well outdoors as well as indoors.
Although we adore your children, we've elected to limit our ceremony and reception to adults only.
There is plenty of parking available in the lot just west of The Live Oaks Friends Meeting House on W. 26th St. If full, street parking is available. Please reserve the spots right along the venue on 26th for family of the bride and groom and vendors.
Our wedding will have a cocktail attire dress code. Please feel free to wear a suit, dress shirt, a cocktail dress, or dressy seperates are great. For this time of year, we’d also recommend a light jacket in the evening (and flat heels will be best for the lawn!)
Texas BBQ with chips, salsa, and queso. And cake! If you have any allergies to any of the above or are unable to eat BBQ, please indicate in the space provided on the RSVP card.
The bar is open! We plan to serve plenty of beer and wine with a curated selection of liquor for our custom cocktails.
In order to keep our wedding as intimate as possible, only guests formally invited on your wedding invitation will be accommodated, If you receive a plus one they will appear on your invitation.
We kindly ask that phones are put away during the wedding ceremony. We have hired an amazing photographer and they will be there to capture everything ceremony related. Feel free to take a ton of photos/videos at cocktail hour and the reception! (And share them with us, too!!)
The Meeting House and Skyspace at Live Oak Friends Meeting was completed in 2001. Artist/designer James Turrell worked in collaboration with Houston architect Leslie K. Elkins to realize the contemplative space. The Meeting House incorporates two James Turrell installations. The first, called “Meeting House 2000,” and later re-named, “One Accord,” is a “skyspace” open to the sky during clear weather. The second installation, called “Night Piece,” uses neon lights to simulate the evening sky.
