~Jory's version~ Our story began Freshman year. The typical boy meets girl, puppy love. However, we didn't start our relationship there. We went our separate ways that summer as friends. Come Sophomore year, I was determined to stay away from Asher and focus on school. Though fate had other plans. On January 19th 2017, Asher had plans to take the first steps towards our relationship. All the way through senior year, and after, we were best friends and I had come to know a love I never knew existed . Asher had shown me how to look at life in a different light. Little did I know, Asher was going to ask for my Uncle Tony's blessing for my hand in marriage on Christmas day 2021. January 19th of 2022 Asher popped the question at sunset at Lake Hefner light house. ~Asher's version~ When Jory and I first met, we started as friends. When it came to Jory, I thought (and still do) she was very pretty and colorful with personality. As Freshman school year continued and we started a friendship that would last through Summer, I learned more about her. I learned things that were very close to her heart and what she truly cared about. Learning those things made me understand her, and I liked that person I came to understand. A feeling of purpose and love led me to begin our first steps together on January 19th, 2017. We were each other's best friends and became partners in crime. Four years later on Christmas Day, 2021 I had asked Jory's father figure, her Uncle Tony, for his blessing to ask for her hand in marriage. On January 19, 2022, our fifth anniversary, I proposed to her during sunset at Lake Hefner. I wanted her to remember our special evening every time we see a beautiful sunset. Here's to a beautiful marriage!
