Amy & Jory met at Purdue in 2012. It was Jory's last semester of college. It was Amy's first year of college. They met in a communications class. Assigned to a group project, Amy told Jory what to do for the project, got an A on the project, and then went separate ways. After Jory graduated, he accepted a job and ultimately ended up in Chicago. Amy continued at Purdue University until 2015. After graduation, she too, ended up in Chicago. In the fall of 2016, crossed paths at a bar in Lincoln Park, had an awkward conversation and went on our separate ways. In April of 2016, Jory sent Amy a text, asking to grab dinner and drinks. The first date went amazing. Amy was an hour late (I was looking for a new cat!), and Jory drank a 6 pack of beer at the restaurant. He went in the kiss, but Amy doesn't kiss on first dates. Awkwardly saying goodbye and going our separate ways. The first date was so fabulous, they didn't go on another date until the fall of that year. And began a relationship in October of 2016.
Jory and Amy went on their first vacation together in May 2017. Taking a cruise to Havana, Cuba for 4 days. While in Havana, they traveled to Ernest Hemingway's home. Amy had only seen this home on tv and Jory didn't know who Hemingway was, but went along with the plan. When deciding where to get married, they looked for a few places. As a joke, Amy suggested the Hemingway Home in Key West because a lot of cats live there. Later, it was decided that this would be a great place to exchange vows.
