The largest hot air balloon fiesta in the WORLD!!! They are selling tickets on the website, and is an hour from Santa fe, being held in Albuquerque. It is truly amazing and worth the visit! Starting October 3d-October 11th!!!
If you are into classic cars and or motorcycles, they are hosting a show at the Santa fe railyard on October 3d-October 4th. There will also be live music and cultural events!
This is a gorgeous place to take pictures! With the aspen changing colors in October, you will be able to see their colorful leaves as a golden yellow, orange, red colors. There are many trails up in there, with some teepee huts and a beautiful stream. I recommend hiking boots as it can be uneven rocky footing. There is an easy path that just about anyone can do and very close to good picture areas. The higher you go, the prettier the pictures are and you can overlook the city of Santa fe, and the adjacent mountains. I highly recommend the Aspen vista trail, and it is not that far, AND free!
2026 Harvest festival! October 3d- October 4th. They have a website
This is fun place to check out! Lots of good food, cute locally owned stores, and native american arts and crafts. Check out the arguably the oldest house in America right near the plaza. The De Vargas street house! It is located near the San Miguel Chapel, which is the oldest church in America. Check out all these historical landmarks, you will not want to miss them.
Morgan's personal favorite authentic Hispanic food diner. They have sweet, and they have spicy dishes. I really love this resturant because the staff are very nice and you can tell the food is made from scratch! The green and red salsa is outstanding, and my favorite dish is the Pechuga con Mango. The dish is a butterflied seasoned chicken breast, smothered in a pineapple or mango sauce. It includes mexican rice and a vegetable medley.
