Thats my JAM!

It all started with a right swipe to a , "That smile!!" message. Their official story then began at a dog park on January 9, 2022. Nico and Jorie set out to finally meet after a couple months of what their onlooker friends would call, "novels" mixed with banter back and forth. Though both a bit nervous to finally meet in person, they showed up. Jorie in braids and a "Grandpa- You DA MAN" shirt, Nico with flip flops and two chai's - and of course their beloved Mowgli and Rocket. The date would go exactly how you'd expect: Nico peed on by a dog, Jorie accidentally leaving a voicemail of the date for her best friend, Nico peed on by a dog (yes, again), Jorie stepping in dog poop, then a plea by Nico for Jorie to let him do something for her the next day, her birthday. Though she played coy.. she called her mom the second she left to tell her about it - something she had never done. Of course, she saw Nico the next day... and day after... and a couple days after that.. & so it went. From there it was set for both of them, Nico even took a picture of Jorie days later and has had it in his wallet since...he always knew.

As mentioned, their first date, Nico discovered the following day was Jorie's birthday. When asking her plans, she admitted she had recently began a new job before the holidays and they were remote all of January, so she would be spending the day alone, working. His eyes lit up as he seized the opportunity to see her instantly again, and he asked if he could do something for her for her birthday... now if you know Jorie, you know she does not like to feel as if she is pitied. Her response? "...It's okay, i'm not a charity case..i'll be fine" After not taking no for an answer, they spent her birthday going back and forth on plans. He wanted to do a nice dinner, make an event of it, make it special...she finally settled for him meeting her OUTSIDE her apartment complex, again with the dogs, for a walk. During the walk, he asked her last name and she did as well, as he said "Mendoza" the confusion was evident on her face so he instantly followed up with .."yeah..i'm Mexican". He then realized her initials, if they ever were to marry (how insane would that be!) would be JAM and confidently exclaimed this to her, referring to her as such since When saying goodbye, he gave her a plant and kissed her.. as she walked away, her dogs leash was wrapped around her, so she did a spin to get it undone.. he took this as an opportunity to instantly text her the song "Kiss Me", stating he felt like he was "in a rom com" as he watched her "happily twirl" afterwards and that that song was now playing in his head..(they have argued the validity of this "twirl" since)
