Jake and Jorie’s story began at the gym, where a friendship quickly turned into hours-long parking lot conversations every day. When Jorie switched to morning workouts, Jake suddenly became an early riser too — it was the only time he could see her. After their first date, they were inseparable. Just a few weeks in, while out of town, Jorie told her friends, “I think I’m going to marry him.” And she was right. Over the next three years, they spent every free weekend at the beach, Jake introduced Jorie to NC State Football, and they became avid gardeners ("homesteaders"). What Jorie didn’t know was that Jake had been trying to propose for nearly a year, but with life’s unexpected twists, his plans kept falling through. On August 31, on the way to get ice cream from their go-to spot, Sunni Sky’s, Jake proposed in the gym parking lot where it all began. On October 25, 2025, they said “I do” in a small, intimate family ceremony at Ocean Isle Beach — a place close to Jake’s heart, filled with memories of countless family beach trips growing up. The whole weekend was filled with love, laughter, and perfect weather — just as it was meant to be.
