Steamboat Springs, CO holds a lot of meaning for us. We have spent two joint birthday weekends there, celebrated a promotion there and ended up in Steamboat for the first time together for a very impromptu trip. For Christmas this past year Jorge surprised me with a weekend trip to Steamboat for my Christmas gift. We went snowshoeing at Rabbit Ear's Pass (the same location we attempted to learn cross country skiing for the first time - separate story in itself). It was such a beautiful sunny Colorado day. We got to the top of the mountain and Jorge suggested we take a picture together. We were the only ones up there in the fresh snow, it was perfect. He propped my camera on one of the poles marking the trail, "set the timer".. and ran over to me for the photo. After a few seconds he said "do you think it has taken the photo" and I quickly said "no not yet" and he laughed and got down on one knee and proposed. The camera was set on video to record the entire proposal. I was quite impressed that he was able to get down on one knee in snowshoes! And also quite surprised :) The rest of the hike was one VERY happy and excited blur of a hike :)
