When I first saw Jorge, he was an auto technician working at the local repair shop, and I was immediately attracted to him. I developed a huge crush on him, and it became my morning routine to sneak a peak at him working as I passed the repair shop on my way to class. My attraction to him, I figured, would only remain from a distance, as I had assumed he was happily married with children. There was no way, I had accepted, a man so attractive could be single. For my 20th birthday, a friend and I planned a road trip to upstate New York. Two days before the trip, I had dropped my car off at the repair shop to fix some minor repairs. On my way home, I had received a text...from Jorge! I was excited, giddy, and also confused. I didn't think texting his customers was a very professional way to communicate. To my surprise, however, he was texting me to ask me out (and to assure me he was really single)! This fall will mark 10 years together ❤️
