This is our favorite spot for dinner in Chicago and where we had our first dinner date. We go to this restaurant whenever we can come up with a good excuse to celebrate!
Great vegetarian option. Jorge and I went here every time he came to visit Chicago. If you want to get the feeling of living in Wicker Park, my old neighborhood, check out HandleBar. Jorge would suggest the fish tacos, I stand by the fried avocado tacos all day. Just know there will be a lot of hipsters there.
This is a classic Italian spot in the heart of "Little Italy". My family and friends have been going here for over 10 years and it has never disappointed us. Some of the best dishes are the eggplant parmesan, lemon chicken, or chicken vesuvio. Don't forget to get the antipasto salad and an order of fried calamari! p.s. It's a cash only restaurant
Many boast that this place has the best burger ever. We aren't sure if it's actually true, or if it's just because you have to wait so long to eat. They always have a wait and do not take reservations, but their burger is quite amazing. While you wait, hop across the street and get a drink at Haymarket Brewery!
This is a great Peruvian-Asian fusion restaurant with amazing food and even more amazing cocktails!
If you love BBQ and smoked meats, this is your spot. It's a casual, delicious, cool restaurant in the West Loop area of Chicago. The door is a little hard to find as there isn't a sign posted, so if you miss it, just ask someone passing by and I'm sure they will help!
One classic Chicago play is Wicked. If you haven't seen it yet, it will be playing this winter!
In the winter, you can ice skate around the "ribbon" in Grant Park!
Even in the cold, you can go check out the bean as well as ice skate just in front of it!
