Point Lobos is one of the most beautiful places to hike near Carmel! The trails are easy to explore and have gorgeous ocean views, coastal cliffs, and plenty of spots to stop and take in the scenery. A perfect morning or afternoon activity if you have extra time during the weekend.
Carmel Beach
Catch a sunset on Carmel Beach! Located at the end of Ocean Avenue, this iconic white-sand beach is perfect for a sunset stroll, especially along the Scenic Pathway overlooking the coast. It’s also dog-friendly, so you’ll likely spot tons of cute pups running along the sand
Bud's at La Playa
One of our favorite bars in Carmel! Bud’s is tucked inside the gorgeous La Playa Hotel, another can’t-miss spot to check out while visiting. If you’re lucky, you may catch their famous “Dime Time,” where drinks are only 10 cents for 10 minutes once a day.
La Bicyclette Restaurant
La Bicyclette is a Carmel hotspot serving European countryside cuisine. Reservations fill up fast, so we recommend booking ahead of time if you’d like to visit. They have amazing wine, wood-fired pizzas, and the coziest atmosphere.
Chez Noir
Chez Noir is a Michelin-starred Carmel favorite and definitely a splurge-worthy dinner spot! The menu is seafood-focused with a coastal California feel, and the restaurant has a beautiful, intimate setting tucked into the streets of Carmel-by-the-Sea. Reservations are highly recommended.
Nora's Carmel
Nora’s is a cozy Carmel spot serving homemade comfort food in the heart of town. Their menu has a little bit of everything, from flatbreads and pastas to seafood, sandwiches, and classic comfort dishes. A great option for a casual lunch or dinner while exploring Carmel-by-the-Sea.
