After connecting over a shared love of travel and witty banter online, we decided to meet for brunch for our first date. This turned into an extensive conversation with a additional coffee date that lasted late into the night and it was apparent that we didn't want this day to be over. After that date we became inseparable, frequently adjusting our lives to be with each other. We developed a deep connection, and on October 24th, 2020 we confirmed our intent to have a long lasting relationship.
For our 18 month anniversary, Wilson planned a surprise weekend for the two of us. On our first night we went to dinner at a beautiful restaurant and we talked about how good our relationship was and the topic of getting engaged came up. Wilson said he just needed a bit more time, but it was coming. Content with the conclusion to the conversation, we continued our weekend. The next morning, Wilson planned a wine tasting for us, this is something we love doing together. Mid-tasting, Wilson stepped away and I was confused when he came back and asked me to go outside to a wine paint and sip happening on the lawn. We asked to continue our tasting later, and I followed Wilson out to the lawn. I was even more confused when we walked past the paint and sip and continued around the building. On the side of the building there was a beautiful picnic set up for just the two of us. I was so excited, but then I turned around and Wilson grabbed my hands and started telling me how important I am to him and how much we had grown as a couple. He then got down on his knees and asked me to marry him. Before he could even finish what he was saying, I cut him off (per my usual habits) and said yes over and over again. He jumped up and hugged me and out of nowhere everyone from the paint and sip class started cheering for us. It was truly the best day of my life!
