The "Betrothal"

We first "met" in our mom's bellies. When Kahryn started experiencing symptoms, she thought she was going through early menopause, but Tori (who was pregnant with Josiah at the time) was the first to suggest that she might be carrying. Little did they know that their children would grow to be the best of friends and eventually husband and wife.

2000s

Boy Meets Girl

Jordyn: My first memory of Josiah is of us playing with Lincoln Logs together. He had a soft smile, a warm spirit, but also a wild side. I just knew him as the rambunctious brown-eyed boy; he would be so excited to see me at church that he'd hug me and tackle me to the floor... to which I would then become terrified and start crying... Josiah: My first memory of Jordyn is when she visited my home in Colorado. Like her father, she enjoyed the outdoors and exploring. I honestly thought she was scared of me as a kid because I was pure energy wrapped in a ball. I keep hearing stories of me tackling her, but I would never lol...

2015

From Colorado to Cali

When his family moved to Colorado, Jordyn and Josiah lost contact with each other. But in 2015, the Mulis decided to move back to Cali, and we started to develop a friendship in our youth group. Though we had vague memories of our early years together, it felt like we were getting to know each other again for the first time.

Prom Night

Josiah didn't want to go to his junior prom, the options at his school were a little... unseasoned... but with his father's prompting, he decided to ask Jordyn to be his prom date. Accompanied by teenage awkwardness and hormones, they slowly started to fall for each other on the dance floor.

Prom Night Pt. 2

Jordyn had such a good time at Josiah's prom, that she decided to ask him to her high school junior prom as well. After weeks of late night texting, they officially began their dating relationship with a kiss at Malaga Cove.

2017

College

To their surprise, both got accepted into Wheaton College (IL). While here, we grew closer to the Lord, each other, and developed lifelong friendships with some of the best people we have been blessed to know. See our "Wedding Party" page to learn more about some of these people.

Distance Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

After going through some challenges, we spent a few months apart. Although this separation was difficult, it ultimately illuminated the extent of our love for one another. We soon began to rekindle our relationship with a newfound sense of gratitude and intentionality.

2021

Postgrad Fun

Coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic, we saw less and less of each other as we were quarantined in different states. However, by May 2021, we both graduated college. And with this postgrad independence, we started to go on more dates and experiences in the heart of Los Angeles.

The Proposal

After two years of L.A. fun, Josiah decided to pop the question. On their 7th year anniversary, the two got engaged at a private beach in Palos Verdes. Josiah: We had talked for months about marriage, even went ring shopping together to get a feel for our styles. I think the defining moment for me was seeing how Jordyn cared for me and the ones I love. I knew that she was committed to me, and I to her. I wanted to start our lives together, so here we are. Jordyn: After years of begging, I finally said yes...... Just kidding! I knew Josiah was planning to propose but was unsure when he would get down on one knee. He knew exactly what I wanted: a private engagement somewhere in the middle of nature, and it couldn't have been more perfect. (I was also glad that I just so happened to have a fresh manicure the day of.)
