Rafael & Jorden

Rafael and I first met when we were 18&19 yrs old working at a retirement home (we were such babies then). We hadn’t talked to each other the first few weeks I started working there, but we definitely had eyeballs for one another. One evening, I was coming into work third shift and Rafael was just coming off of second shift. Every time there is a shift switch, you have to give a report to the oncoming staff. Of course, Rafael was in charge of giving me mine. If any of you know Rafael, he loves to crack a joke and get people to smile. So what does he do? Proceed to give me shift report on 10 residents within a 2 minute span so he had the rest of the time to just “talk” to me. We ended up talking about what life was like working at Chick Fil A, as that was my second job at the time. His infamous pick up line to finish out the evening was “Here’s my number. Text me so I know the next time you’re working and I can get a free chicken sandwich”. Teenage me thought that was the funniest thing I had heard in a while. I knew from that moment that he was worth someone getting to know. Fast forward a few weeks later, we began dating and were inseparable. We had lots of the same interests..music, fashion, art, and most importantly FOOD! To this day, I would say our favorite thing to do together is dining out. It’s definitely a weakness for us! Over the last 4 almost 5 years, Rafael and I have shared so many adventures from going on movie theatre binges to trying new restaurants to attending weddings and traveling. I think a favorite memory of ours would be the first time we were ever able to experience a cruise together ( thanks Mom and Dad!). Rafael and I cannot wait to experience more of what life has to offer and to continue making memories along side our dog child, Willow!
