It is HIGHLY suggested that guests plan to arrive no later than Friday (Sept 1st) in case of any travel delays that may arise. This will better ensure you are able to make it to the ceremony on September 2nd and be included in the Welcome Dinner for guests. We do not feel the need to further specify travel dates for guests as we know everyone has differing priorities. If you do decide to stay for an extended amount of time, please note that though the brides may be there as well- this does not mean that they will be available to spend unplanned time with others.
This is an intimate celebration for the couple amongst f(r)amily. Our purchased wedding package covers up to 20 guests & AS OF 12/30/22 WE HAVE MET THAT CAPACITY. Guests have been accounted for on a first come- first serve basis, based on RSVP via booking deposit completion. Hence, if you are requiring a plus ones they MUST to be approved by brides or else they will be instructed by our agent to be removed from our booking site. Furthermore, since we are now over the allotted package amount of 20 EVERY guest going forward will be contacted and instructed to pay resort charged fee of $75 directly to the brides by 7/31 to cover the accommodating costs.
Amidst all the headlines and travel advisories for Mexico, we would like everyone to know we are aware and doing our due diligence with to stay informed. We decided to share some of the most updated information we have found from reliable sources- links are provided below. There are also maps for travel advisories you can easily google as well for visual representations. *Please be advised that Mexico is a large country and the city of Cancun is on the Southern tip. From what we have seen, most heavily advised locations are states that are near/border the United States. This can equal to roughly 1,000 miles away. Nonetheless, we advise everyone to do whatever feels best for YOU and please keep us updated if your plans change. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/state-department-texas-issue-mexico-spring-break-travel-alerts-after-americans-kidnapped/
Due to the larger amount of guest, the ceremony and/or reception will take place at outdoor venues. Guests may need to bring sunscreen and bug repellent.
The attire for our wedding is BEACH FORMAL. We kindly ask that you do not wear colors traditionally reserved for the brides- whites, ivories, etc. Also, steering away from black would be appreciated as we would love to see our guests in brighter "beach" colors. Other than that you can wear whatever colors you find most appealing! EXAMPLES: Masculine Attire: linen, khaki or cotton materials and closed toe shoes Feminine Attire: flowy dresses, skirts or jumpsuits made of lighter materials and low wedges or flat sandals (no flip flops) Simply put- nice clothing that is functional with Cancun beach weather. Please no jeans.
After the ceremony, the wedding party will be taking pictures nearby. Guests can head straight to the cocktail hour where will will be serving hot and cold finger foods and beverages.
You will be missed! If you cannot make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can partner with the resort to plan accordingly.
While the resort has some activities onsite both daily and nightly, you are more than welcome to take advantage of the BEAUTIFUL surroundings during your stay. There will be representatives that can assist with booking activities and excursions at the resort. However, if you would like to take a look for yourself, visiting websites like Viator, Amstar or googling 'Cancun excursions' will be helpful to get a preview of the options available to you.
-Bring Tums/Imodium and other vitamins to help your body get used to new food and being in a new environment -Drink mostly bottled water -If you arrive/leave outside of regular check in/out hours you can request them watch your luggage while you enjoy the facilities - If you want to watch "your shows" bring a firestick or laptop and HDMI cord to plug into their TVs - Most specialty restaurants take reservations and fill up fast, so plan ahead for dining (especially in groups of 4+) - Arriving to dinner around 6/6:30 usually yield little to no wait due to no-shows and people requesting later reservation times - Bring a Yeti/ insulated cup if you would like to keep your drinks cooler longer while outside -Floors around water fixtures can be slippery so proceed with caution if you or they are wet - If you are very particular about your libations, bring a personal bottle of your favorite in case they dont have it at the resort - Due to the humidity and proximity to the beach- Bug spray would be a good idea - Arrive closer to 9pm if you would like close seating to nightly entertainment...turns into a dancefloor afterwards (for the people who like to dabble in late night shenanigans)
USD is widely excepted in Mexico, however if you would like to exchange some funds to their currency here is some more information on that: Mexico's currency is PESOS and the exchange rate from USD (dollars) to PESOS can vary daily based on the market supply and demand. $1 = (roughly) 20 pesos, $100 = 2000 pesos It is suggested that you visit your bank at least a month prior to visiting MX and exchange USD for PESOS. Most brick and mortar financial institutions will be able to fulfill this exchange request. Please note that their may be a transaction fee if the exchange is for a smaller amount (bank specific). We suggest doing this in the states for a higher exchange rate as well as to avoid the hassle of trying to find kiosks and ATMS while in MX that are going to charge higher fees. AS IN THE USA, IT IS CUSTOMARY TO TIP FOR SERVICES AT RESORTS OVERSEAS, SO PLEASE TAKE THAT INTO ACCOUNT WHEN BUDGETING FOR YOUR TRIP.
