Just like Ed Sheeran, we found love right where we are. And by "right where we are," I mean at work, at an accounting firm, during a new-hire training event. It sounds more romantic when Ed says it. In September 2017, during training sessions for our fresh-out-of-college jobs, Jordan and I would be assigned to each other as partners, and we began to get to know each other. Each morning, we would also conveniently seem to pull into the same parking lot at the same time before walking into work together ("fate" anyone?) and we learned that a long walk to the office isn't so bad when you have someone fun to flirt with on the way. I was immediately interested in her witty sense of humor, ridiculously precise memory (this one can be hard to deal with as a, let's say, "forgetful" guy), her nerdy side (coming from a nerd), caring heart, love for life, and her dog. I don't recall anything she found interesting about me (JORDAN TO ADD SOMETHING HERE - please? just make something up). We began dating, which was made easy by our shared love of all things "chill": long walks in pretty parks with Bacon Bits, her lovable Husky (our first date!); movie nights; playing board games; and trying new bars and restaurants. We began going on bigger adventures, visiting new places. Some of our favorite trips include hiking trips to Rocky Mountain and Yellowstone National Parks, a Caribbean Cruise, and our tour of Alaska this past year. Each step of the way, we grew closer to each other and learned that life was best spent together. Finally in February 2020, Matt invited Jordan and Bacon to the Houston Arboretum for "just another walk," but Matt asked Jordan to wear nice clothes and because we would go out to dinner after the walk and of course there is nothing suspicious when Matt asks to dress up to walk around in the outdoors. Suddenly - surprise! - it was actually a secret proposal setup that Jordan did not expect at all! Matt popped the question and Jordan accidentally said yes.

We cannot wait for May 28th!
