General Portland Information
If you have never been to Portland, we are excited for you to visit! Here are some suggestions for you. Portland has a variety of Hotels and AirBnB for those of you coming from out of town. We will be reserving hotel blocks in some of the larger hotels but there are many options for those of you that would rather plan your stay somewhere else. Some hotels that we particularly like are the KEX Portland*, Jupiter and the Jupiter NEXT. These are close to the venue! Across the river, the Sentinel and Hoxton are great choices.

Travel
The Portland light rail system ('the MAX') provides cheap and convenient service from the airport to downtown. Consider using this if you are staying downtown. Uber/Lyft provide easy options for short drives around the city. Getting to/from Coopers Hall: Parking is limited at the venue. We recommend carpooling and taking Lyft/Uber.

A great option for those traveling on a budget. Dottier restaurant downstairs, sauna in the basement. A room for 8 with private bath goes for about $30/pp. Stephanie liked staying at the Kex Hostel in Iceland. Lonely Planet described it as "1920s Las Vegas" or "vaudeville rodeo". It was cool.

The MAX light rail provides convenient access from the airport to downtown Portland. If you are flying in, consider utilizing the MAX instead of renting a car! The current price is $2.50 per ride on the MAX.
