We’re getting hitched!

Here is where our story begins, at an old Cape Cod house during move in day of our AmeriCorps term. Jordanne was moving furniture all over the place (certain she needed more room for her clothes) and Andrew was just arriving with all his Honda Civic could fit. He originally thought Jordanne was the supervisor, seeing her already take charge. Quickly learning she was just another member with similar interests, a friendship naturally formed. A strong bond already, the friendship became more. Lots of adventures and states later, the love and admiration only grew!

When our adventure on Cape Cod was cut short by Covid, we decided to make the move out to the Mile High City! We road tripped the long way, from New York to Florida to Alabama and then to Colorado. Thirteen-hour long car trips in the middle of a pandemic truly are a test of compatibility! During our time out west, we have discovered many new breweries, gorgeous hikes, reconnected with old friends, and adopted our kitty cat Mishu.

What is more romantic than a hike up the sand dunes? Wind in our hair, sand in our shoes, mountains all around us. It felt like another world. Halfway up the dunes Andrew told me he talked to my dad and to go pick out a white dress and opened up a box that says “the adventure begins”. And the rest is history!

Our adventure in Colorado was fun, but now we have returned to the East Coast. We just bought our first house and are settling down (as much as 20-something year olds can) in Upstate NY. We plan to hike all the high peaks and spend some more time with family.
