Not at all. You are welcome to stay at any hotel or resort in or around Puerto Aventuras that suits your budget and preferences.
If you're a British Citizen/National, you do not need a visa for tourist stays. Your passport must simply be valid for the duration of your trip. If you have a passport from a different country, please double check visa requirements to enter Mexico (including transit visa if your flight includes any stops).

The local currency is the Mexican Peso (MXN). Credit and debit cards are widely accepted, and US dollars are often accepted in tourist areas. ATMs are also widely available.
