Our love story

This isn’t a Hallmark love story. It’s about two kids from Lebanon who spent years in the same church, went to the same events, sang in the same choir, and were even part of Pathfinders (basically Adventist Boy Scouts)… yet somehow barely knew each other. We might’ve said hello once or twice, but that was it. Funny how life works, because now we’re building a life together. As time went on, our paths seemed even less likely to cross. Jordane went into the military, and Antonet followed her calling to become a social worker. With Jordane in Virginia and Antonet in Atlanta, nothing about our lives pointed to this happening. What actually started our story were two dads who loved their kids and prayed for the right kind of love for them. Knowing how hard dating can be, and trusting God’s timing, they made a simple introduction—no pressure, no expectations. Just an open door. What happened after that was completely up to us. In 2023, our dads suggested we talk. After some time and a lot of prayer, Jordane reached out on June 15th just to say hello. Neither of us was looking for a long-distance relationship. Jordane wanted to focus on God after past relationships didn’t work out, and Antonet had been through her own disappointments. We didn’t expect much… but we kept talking. From the start, things felt different. We were intentional. We asked real questions. We talked about faith, life, and what we actually wanted. Because of the distance, communication wasn’t optional—it was everything. We talked regularly, prayed together, studied the Bible, and showed up honestly for each other before any labels were even involved. Somewhere along the way, conversations turned into something deeper, and feelings grew into something steady and strong. There was a moment when fear showed up. Jordane worried about repeating old mistakes and asked to step away. Antonet respected that and gave space. But after a few days, it was clear something was missing. What felt right was gone. Jordane reached back out, realizing what he almost walked away from, and Antonet gave it another chance. By the winter of 2023, it was obvious this was worth choosing. Distance, schedules, and timing didn’t stop us—they pushed us to be more intentional. Through long-distance visits, thoughtful surprises, counseling, prayer, and a lot of effort, we kept choosing each other. On December 28, 2024, Jordane asked Antonet to spend her life with him. The answer was easy. Antonet said yes because the relationship brought clarity, not confusion, and peace instead of pain. Jordane was intentional, kind-hearted, and gentle with her heart in a way she had never experienced before. No one had ever loved her like that, so it was a yes she would choose a million times over. What we’re celebrating now is the next chapter of something that was built slowly, intentionally, and with God at the center. This isn’t just about a wedding—it’s about a commitment, a covenant, and the daily choice to love each other well. And we’re so grateful to celebrate this moment with the people who mean the most to us.
