When Connor was a freshman at Belmont Abbey and Sarah was at College of Charleston, Connor came to Charleston for a weekend to visit some friends there. That weekend, Sarah got a text to come to a party because people from "LBI were gonna be there!" She ended up meeting Connor at a house party that night in January and talked with him for what must have been hours. They exchanged numbers and Instagrams, and then didn't speak (except for liking each other's instagram posts) until summer break when they started dating almost immediately.

Connor had planned a boat day for the Tuesday after Memorial Day with one of his best friends and Sarah's sister, Ally. The 4 of them headed out on the boat that afternoon, with plans to get dinner later at a nice restaurant, so Sarah needed to pack a change of clothes. Sarah, being the planner that she is didn't understand - why couldn't they just come home and shower and change before dinner? She reluctantly agreed and packed a change of clothes which her sister Ally helped pick out. After the boat, they rinsed off at the marina, and headed to "dinner" When driving past the restaurant that dinner was supposed to be at, it was closed! Sarah kept asking questions about what they were doing for food (#hangry), and Connor said they were going to grab another friend who was boating up from their neighborhood dock and then all 5 of them would head somewhere to dinner. They pulled up to the neighborhood dock, and Connor asked Sarah to walk with him. At the end of the dock, Connor proposed!
